JACK ROLLWAGEN IS A CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGIST WHOSE SPECIALTIES ARE WORLD SYSTEM ANALYSIS, WORLD POVERTY AND ECONOMIC UNDERDEVELOPMENT, AND VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY. HE FOUNDED THE JOURNAL "URBAN ANTHROPOLOGY" IN 1972 AND HAS SERVED AS ITS EDITOR SINCE THAT TIME.

HE HAS EDITED TWO BOOKS ON ANTHROPOLOGICAL FILM AND ANTHROPOLOGICAL FILMMAKING: ANTHROPOLOGICAL FILMMAKING (1988) AND ANTHROPOLOGICAL FILM AND VIDEO IN THE 1990s (1993).

HE WAS A FULBRIGHT TEACHING FELLOW IN SHANDONG PROVINCE, CHINA, IN 1998-1999.

HE IS PRESENTLY ENGAGED IN THE PRODUCTION OF TWO DVD SERIES:
LIFE IN AN AMERICAN VILLAGE, AND SONG OF THE GRASSLANDS.
